DHREAM Cup Cherbourg to La Trinite
17th - 21 July
The DHream Cup attracts some of the worlds fastest race yachts. There are three courses. Course 1 for the Ultime's a 1000 lap from Cherbourg round Isle of Man, down to Spain then back to La Trinite. A course for the open 60's Class 40's visiting Fastnet before heading to La Trinite. For us on the might Venomous we are on the 600 mile course.
Cherbourg - Shambles - Wolf Rock - Isle Ouessant and to La Trinite.
Its a mix of costal and offshore. A technical and challenging course. Plenty of tidal gates to encounter, and some proper Ocean sailing thrown in. Right up there with the Fasnet.
Before the event there are three days of events. It will possibly be the biggest meeting of large race yachts ever seen.
Maxis, Ultimes, IMOCA's etc etc.
One thing for sure is, the French love offshore sailing its will attract plenty of interest.
Arrive by 14th July for what is Bastille. (Daily fast ferries Poole or Portsmouth) Day. Come join the party.
